The workshop provided detailed technical information on WTO and FTA negotiations and discussed some of the existing empirical research relevant for trade negotiations.
The High Level Meeting on trade capacity-building and competition policy for African LDCs was held in Lusaka on 10-12 May 2010. India’s trade support for African LDCs was the theme of discussion on 11 May 2010.
The meeting jointly organized by UNCTAD, Centre for WTO Studies, New Delhi and FICCI provided a platform for two-way interaction between stakeholders and the Department of Commerce on issues related to some aspects of WTO negotiations, particularly agriculture, fisheries subsidies, industrial tariffs and services.
This Conference discussed the findings of recent research on impact of global slowdown on India’s exports and employment by UNCTAD’s India project to identify appropriate policy options and mitigating strategies for the industry and trade. The conference was attended by policy makers; researchers; practitioners; representatives of industry and trade and trade experts.
DFID-funded UNCTAD’s India project, New Delhi organised a series of events on 12th June 2009. These events were a part of activities related to World Trade Week UK.
The main objectives of the three day conference was to discuss the findings of recent research on trade –poverty linkages by UNCTAD-India project; deliberate on research on this issue in other countries; and debate on the policy directions which emerge.
This National Seminar was organized by the UNCTAD-JUECON Programme, Department of Economics, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, in collaboration with UNCTAD-India, New Delhi, under the UNCTAD-DFID-GOI Project on "Strategies and Preparedness for Trade and Globalization in India".
This seminar was organised by UNCTAD India Programme. The seminar provided a forum to discuss gender concerns in the context of trade liberalization by international trade and gender experts, policy makers, academia and civil society.
